Flora

The Pyrénées remain unspoilt and it is possible to discover rare flora whilst walking in the mountains.

The meadows and mountainsides are carpeted in beautiful wild flowers ranging from irises, deep blue gentians, orchids, buttercups to clusters of thyme and other herbs.

Visit the Pyrénées in June and July and discover why the area is known as the “Flower Garden of Europe”.

There are around 160 endemic species, including the fritillaria pyrenaica which can be found a short distance from Chez Lingarole in the Barousse Valley.
